Fly casting tuition

We offer two types of fly casting tuition, single handed fly casting and spey casting.

Single handed fly rod casting tuition (trout)

Our fly casting tuition is undertaken by professional registered instructors. The fly casting tuition takes place on our own lake which is just a 2 minute walk from our fishing tackle store.

Fly casting tuition is essential for beginners, we do advise you have a casting lesson before you invest in buying any fly fishing equipment, we can then address your requirements and advise you of a fly fishing outfit to suit you and your budget.

Our fly casting tuition usually takes place on Saturday mornings, meeting at Archline Angling’s store between 9am – 9.20am before making your way over to the lake with the instructor.

The fly casting tuition finishes approximately 4 hours later. We do advise participants to bring outer clothing suitable for the weather conditions on the day. Suitable footwear would be walking boots or wellington boots. You can bring your own refreshments and you can take a break at any time during the fly casting tuition.

Class numbers are usually between four and six persons and your instructor will provide the entire fly casting equipment if you do not have it.

Spey casting tuition

Our spey casting tuition is undertaken by professional registered instructors. Although on still water our lake has casting platforms, and both left and right handed spey casting instruction can be given.

The instruction lasts approximately 3 hours and usually takes place on Saturday afternoons. Equipment can be provided if required.
